Resumen: Este artículo se propone reflexionar sobre la evolución narrativa de Alonso de Castillo Solórzano a través del análisis contrastado entre dos colecciones de novelas cortas -Tardes entretenidas (1625) y La quinta de Laura (1649)- que marcaron el principio y el final de una producción literaria abundante y variada. Nos interesaremos en particular por el marco narrativo en las dos obras, por los temas que se desarrollan en los relatos y por la escritura del autor.
Abstract: This article offers to explore the evolution of Alonso de Castillo Solórzano’s narrative through the comparative analysis of two collections of short stories, Tardes Entretenidas (1625) and La quinta de Laura (1649), which marked the beginning and the end of a rich and varied literary production. Particular attention will be given to narrative structure in both works, to the themes developed in the stories as well as to the author’s writing style.
